As discussed at the meeting last evening, I stopped by Discount Electronics and invested $8.00 for two VGA gender-changer adapters. I attached zip-cables so they could be attached to the library projector's mis-matched cable and presented them to the appreciative librarians. So now they have one on the projector plus a spare in a drawer somewhere. -- John Dierdorf Austin, TX www.io.com/~dierdorf From wyllys at ischool.utexas.edu Wed Feb 3 20:25:52 2010 From: wyllys at ischool.utexas.edu (Ronald Wyllys) Date: Wed, 03 Feb 2010 20:25:52 -0600 Subject: [Local] VGA Cable Adapter for North Village Library In-Reply-To: <201002031701.02889.dierdorf@io.com> References: <201002031701.02889.dierdorf@io.com> Message-ID: <4B6A3030.8040501@ischool.utexas.edu> John, As a "Friend of the Austin Public Library", I thank you for your gift to the North Village Branch. :-) Ron John Dierdorf wrote: > Mission Accomplished. > > As discussed at the meeting last evening, I stopped by Discount Electronics > and invested $8.00 for two VGA gender-changer adapters. Her car was stuck in one of the lanes, blocking traffic, in the dark, at a place where people are driving at a high rate of speed and there's lots of traffic at that hour. Fortunately everything is OK, except the car, which had to be towed to a service station. We were assisted by an extremely kind APD officer on a bike, who called a tow truck and stayed with us, directing traffic and then eventually pushing the car, himself, out of the main flow of traffic. My wife was quite upset by the experience, which is what she was communicating to me on the phone while I was at your meeting. In any case, I do apologize for having to leave, and I hope to join you again sometime in the future. Please accept my apologies. -- Gary -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
